Easter is often a time filled with fun, colour, and creativity – and at Brighter Beginnings, we make sure our activities are inclusive for every child, whether or not their family celebrates the religious side of the holiday.
Across our nurseries in Manchester – from Burnage to Rusholme, Fallowfield to Newton Heath, and at Charlestown and Wetherby Street – we’ll be marking the season with hands-on learning, joyful experiences, and themes of growth and renewal that all children can enjoy.
Easter Activities That Everyone Can Enjoy
Our approach to Easter in the Early Years focuses on play, imagination, and springtime themes. Here are just a few ideas we’re excited to explore with the children this April:
- Easter Egg Hunts
A classic favourite! We use reusable eggs hidden indoors or in our Forest School areas, helping to build excitement, problem-solving, and teamwork. - Make-Your-Own Bunny Ears
A simple but fun craft activity that supports fine motor skills and lets children express their creativity – plus, they love hopping around in them afterwards! - Springtime Sensory Play
We’ll create sensory trays filled with items like shredded paper “grass,” chicks, eggs, flowers, and leaves – giving children a rich, hands-on learning experience. - Seasonal Storytime
Our team shares books focused on spring, kindness, and new life – stories about baby animals or gardens growing are firm favourites.

What If You Don’t Celebrate Easter?
Not all families observe Easter, and that’s absolutely fine. At Brighter Beginnings, we honour every child’s background and make sure there are always alternative ways to join in.
Here are some non-religious, spring-based activity ideas we love:
- Planting seeds and watching them grow – a fantastic way to teach responsibility and nature cycles.
- Exploring signs of spring – spotting buds on trees, bugs, birds, or even puddle jumping!
- Spring-themed arts & crafts – pastel colours, flower prints, and textured materials help children get creative with the season.
These activities still reflect the values of renewal, change, and growth – all central to children’s development and understanding of the world around them.

Our Inclusive Approach
As one of the most welcoming and inclusive nursery providers in Manchester, Brighter Beginnings always ensures our children feel:
- Respected and seen – whatever their background or beliefs.
- Free to express themselves through art, play, and conversation.
- Safe and supported by caring, trained early years professionals.
Whether you’re celebrating Easter, enjoying the longer days, or simply excited for warmer weather and muddy outdoor adventures, there’s something for everyone this season.
