At Brighter Beginnings, we know that healthy habits start in the early years. That’s why we’re thrilled to have taken part in Healthy Body, Happy Me Week 2025—a national initiative by NDNA that celebrates physical play and wellbeing with this year’s theme: Busy Bodies!

This energetic campaign encouraged children across our nurseries to get moving, stretching, dancing, balancing—and most importantly, having fun while staying active.
Why Physical Play Matters
Movement is essential for children’s physical and cognitive development. Activities that involve twisting, balancing, dancing, or even walking barefoot strengthen muscles, improve coordination, and help children regulate their emotions. Plus, they’re just really good fun!
What we have planned
Across the week, each of our nursery sites explored different Busy Bodies themes. Here’s a snapshot of what we’ve been enjoying:
- Terrific Twisters Day: Children led their own twisty dance routines, waved scarves, and strengthened their core muscles through fun-filled games.
- Creative Movement Friday: From drawing under tables to outdoor rolling games, children explored movement through art, music, and stories.
- Healthy at Home Ideas: We also shared take-home resources to encourage families to get active together, with 10-minute daily movement challenges and creative barefoot walks.

Building Healthy Habits for Life
The energy, laughter, and movement we’ve seen this week has been a joy to watch. As always, our goal is to help every child grow strong, confident, and happy—one dance, roll, or barefoot adventure at a time.
Let’s keep those busy bodies moving!
