Brighter Beginnings Wetherby Street Openshaw is rated Outstanding by Ofsted.
Brighter Beginnings Day Nursery Wetherby Street is a nursery in Higher Openshaw just off Ashton Old Road between Ogden Lane and Vine Street. The nursery is a spacious setting and is based in the heart of the local community. There are four small and peaceful playrooms ideal to nurture our young babies and a large, busy central main playroom for our energetic two and three year olds .
We also have a classroom dedicated to getting children ready for school. In this room teachers plan and lead a range of activities designed to prepare the children with all the skills they will need when they start school. Along with this we have several generous and well resourced outside play areas where the children can run about, play and explore in safety.
The Nursery Manager is Laura Fisher. Laura is a highly qualified member of staff who has worked in childcare since 2012 . She has worked for Brighter Beginnings for 5 years and knows the company inside and out. Starting as a practitioner in our Wetherby Street setting, she quickly worked her way up to Deputy. She is a homegrown talent who rose through the ranks and is now manager of one of our largest settings.
"At Brighter Beginnings Wetherby Street we welcome children and their families many of whom are directly from the local community. Our aim is for the children to feel safe, happy and valued while encouraging self-confidence and independence. Embedded throughout our curriculum are opportunities for the children to play, developing skills to support them with their next adventures.
Our Wetherby Street nursery is busy and friendly. We have our own allotment close by and the children make regular visits to inspect their own grown fruit and vegetables. We are also close to lots of parks, shops and places of interest and we enjoy taking the children on walks to explore the community. Children and parents feel at home here. Come and have a look round!"
The nursery offers all year-round full day care for children from birth to 5 years of age. We also offer 15 hours free entitlement for 2, 3 and 4-year olds along with 30-hour childcare for children aged 3 and 4 years of age.

“My son is always happy to go to nursery and reluctant to leave. He has started to learn to write and was able to write 'Mummy' the other day. I was very pleased with his progress. The nursery also organises trips out. They recently went to Portland Basin Museum and my son enjoyed it immensely.”
