Rusholme Brighter Beginnings is situated in the heart of Rusholme’s curry mile, just off Wilmslow road on Great Western Street. The setting is part of a large Sure Start centre and enjoys all the outreach services and programs that the centre has to offer. The setting has 6 generously sized playrooms around one large central playroom and is surrounded by a very large and well-resourced outdoor space that children can access from every playroom. Our nursery has a dedicated 'Ready For School' room where children learn all the skills they need to prepare them for school. We encourage a 'curiosity approach' by providing for example real furniture and items instead of toys in the home corner. Along with this we have our own specialist Forest Schools Teacher enabling our children to have an exciting outdoor curriculum which takes place in all weathers.
The Nursery Manager is Elaine Elliott who has worked for the company since 2011. She has worked in childcare since 1998 and so has over 20 years of experience. She started in Brighter Beginnings as a term time only nursery nurse and went on rising up the ranks to become a manager. Elaine is qualified up to Level 5 and possesses other qualifications such as First Aid, Food Safety, Food Allergies and Designated Safeguarding Lead.
"Here at Rusholme we are lucky to be part of a rich and diverse community. We are experts in supporting children who speak English as an additional language and we provide various different ways of communicating with our children and families. We strive to provide opportunities and experiences to help the children learn about the wider community. We love to encourage the children’s home language and to celebrate our community festivals and special days with them. Our children have access to forest schools activities and we all cook or bake every week. We aspire to embed outstanding practices and to provide the highest quality provision throughout all our play rooms and especially ensuring that preschool children gain all the skills they need to prepare them for school. Come and have a look round!"
The nursery offers all year-round full day care for children from birth to 5 years of age. We also offer 15 hours free entitlement for 2, 3 and 4-year olds along with 30-hour childcare for children aged 3 and 4 years of age.

“My daughter started nursery at the beginning of January, and she settled in straight away. Her speech has come on amazingly in the time she has been at the nursery, which is fantastic. She looks forward to going to nursery and has made new friends. I am pleased with her progress and happy that I have chosen this nursery for my child”
“My 3-year-old son has been going to this nursery for a year and he absolutely loves it. The nursery has very friendly staff. A lot of different toys to explore and they do a lot of other activities (taking the kids outside, to a museum, airport). They have Forest School which is very enjoyable to my child and my other little one 1-year-old daughter also joined the same nursery and she settled there very well. When my kids are at nursery, I know they are in good hands. They are always happy there are in good hands. They are always happy there playing a lot, learning new skills. Highly recommended.”
