Situated in the heart of Newton Heath, just behind Church Street on Great Newton Street. Recently achieving ‘Outstanding’ from Ofsted. The nursery has five large playrooms including a recently added purpose-built playroom for our term time only children.
The setting also enjoys large and well-resourced outdoor spaces. A gardening area provides the children with space to grow their own vegetables. We have a wealth of resources in our local community that we access and the children enjoy regular visits to the local library and going on adventures in the many green spaces around.
We provide before and after school care and holiday club and currently have links with our local primary schools.
Newton Heath is proud to have achieved an ‘Enhancing’ rating in the Quality Assurance Framework (QAF), in all areas giving the setting Gold Status, signifying our commitment to far exceeding minimum standards and our effectiveness in continuously improving our childcare provision
Our Forest School program offers a unique and enriching outdoor learning experience. Immersed in the natural environment, our children engage in child-led, explorative learning, which fosters their curiosity, creativity, and problem-solving skills. The Forest School setting encourages physical activity, risk-taking within a safe framework, and a deepened respect for nature. We believe in the benefits of connecting children with the outdoors, which is why we offer this program. It helps build confidence, resilience, and independence, skills that are invaluable throughout their lives.
Hello, my name is Louise, and I joined the Brighter Beginnings Newton Heath team in December 2023. I have worked in the early years sector for over ten years, progressing from an apprentice to a nursery manager, and have built a wealth of knowledge along the way. I began my journey with a Level 2 apprenticeship and graduated from Manchester Metropolitan University with a degree in Early Years and Childhood Studies.
I am passionate about ensuring every child and family feels a sense of belonging, listened to, and understood. As a parent myself, I am committed to supporting families and building strong, collaborative partnerships with parents and carers. At Brighter Beginnings, we encourage children to express themselves, explore their creativity, and strive for their best outcomes. We also love to bring families and the wider community together through special events hosted at the setting including Halloween celebrations with our own pumpkin patch, Easter celebrations with a miniature petting barn, with bunnies and chicks, summer and Christmas fairs, and themed stay-and-play sessions.
Creating a nurturing, inspiring environment for children and families is at the heart of everything we do, and I am proud to be part of a team that values connection, creativity, and growth.
