What are the benefits of studying for a Traineeship?

Work experience and learning

Trainee jobs offer learners an opportunity to experience first-hand what it is like to work in a sector of their choice. The course of study gives a taster of the skills, knowledge and behaviours you will learn about for your chosen profession. This will run alongside a work placement of several hours a week for a period of no less than 70 hours.

Childcare and Early Years

Childcare and early years
You will have the opportunity to gain experience in a nursery or similar setting. You will learn how to support children’s development through stimulating and exciting activities they are interested in and how to keep them safe. You will learn about team work and you may go onto a full level 2 or 3 apprenticeship.

Health and Social Care

Health and social care
You will see at first hand how we look after our older citizens and how important it is to be friendly and compassionate, supporting individuals to live a life with dignity and the difference this makes to the quality of life for care home residents. You may gain employment from this traineeship or go on to complete a higher qualification.

Customer Service

Customer service
You will learn how to maintain business by listening to the customers’ needs and supporting them in their queries through appropriate communication styles. All business needs a strong approach to customer service and you will have the chance to observe and try out some of the skills needed in this field.

Business Administration

Business Administation
Here you will experience a range of administrative tasks that offices in business need. Workplace experience will show you the importance of attention to detail and accuracy. You will get to practice being polite and efficient on the telephone and learn some digital skills and witness how an experienced team solve problems.

Catering Services

Catering Services
Work placements in the catering field will give you the opportunity to try your hand at food preparation and learn about the importance of Food safety and hygiene along with some cooking skills. You will experience the daily activities in a busy kitchen environment while playing your part as a team member.
